The Bluffs will open for play at 10:00 Sunday, March 29. Please read the complete document below.
COVID-19 safety protocols
The Bluffs Golf Course & Clubhouse
Welcome to The Bluffs Golf Course! During this challenging time, Bluffs staff want to reassure you that this pandemic is taken very seriously at the course, and precautions are in place to protect your health and the health of the staff.
Please be reminded that we all must follow the CDC guidelines to help stop the spread of COVID-19. If you are not feeling well, please stay home. We will do our part to contain the virus, please do yours.
The Bluffs will re-open the course for play and offer limited access to the clubhouse beginning on March 29 at 10AM. Tee-times can only be made via phone at 605 677-7058. Walk-up tee times are not an option during this time; you must call in advance before coming out to play! This is for your safety as well as the safety of our staff.
In an attempt to help control the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the golf course and clubhouse will only be available to Bluffs members and residents of the Vermillion community. There will be a limit of 8 people allowed in the clubhouse at any given time. There will be no food or beverages for sale at this time. These policies will be strictly enforced.
On the course, we will be removing all items that may come in contact with multiple players. There will be no bunker rakes, ball washers, on-course bathrooms, or water coolers available. There will be no flagsticks in the cups on the course or the practice greens. There will be an insert inside of the cup to keep the ball from falling to the bottom of the hole minimizing contact with the cup liner. Initially, the cups will be located in the middle of the green. When it is necessary to change cups, we will notify players as to their location. Our goal is to provide a “touchless golf experience.”
Members will be allowed to use their own carts, and carts will still be available to rent. Follow social distancing protocols by riding solo in each cart this includes private carts. Only members of immediate families may ride two in a cart. When finished with your round, please park rental carts in the designated area for proper sanitization prior to the next use. To increase our sanitizing and cleaning practices, the clubhouse and cart sheds will close at 7pm until further notice. This is a fluid situation, and our policies may change at any time as new information becomes available.
Thank you for your cooperation,
The Bluffs Staff

Severe Weather Warning System
The Bluffs Golf Course has recently installed a Severe Weather Warning System. When you hear the horns blow, mark your ball and do not finish the hole. Return to the clubhouse immediately. When the danger has passed, an 'all clear' signal will be given and you can return to playing your round. Remember, however, you do not have to wait until you hear the 'dangerous situation' siren to discontinue play. By rule, you may stop play any time you feel you are in danger. Thank you for your consideration.
